A unique technique:
an introduction to "Relax and Rejuvenate"
Every person can benefit from relaxation exercises that rejuvenate both body and mind. Total release of muscle tone accompanied by deep breathing energizes every cell of the body and simultaneously detoxifies all tissue. Calm, regulated breathing soothes the nerves and mind, and combined with a non-thinking focus on the physical experience free of thought processes form the essence of a relax and rejuvenate session.
The Five Keys to Well-being relaxation philosophy encourages resting before complete exhaustion, preserving energy and health before it is strained to breakpoint. Releasing all activity on a regular basis is a powerful means to ensure long-term health and sustain positive energy at work, play and exercise. This allows maintenance of a healthy equilibrium of balanced activity and rest cycles. Deep, focussed rest also releases the damaging effects of stress and exhaustion, and assists recovery from busy periods or illness.
Brief sessions, regularly practiced, may range from two or three to five minute cat or power naps, lying down or seated meditations, and longer sessions of up to thirty minutes of deep rest.
Benefits of effective deep relaxation
The Five Keys to Well-being relax and rejuvenate technique teaches the body and mind invaluable insights into well-being, and provides the tools to attain it.
The body and mind can only achieve complete rest when free of all tension and business. Deep relaxation requires complete absence of mental and physical activity, a focussed mind immersed in the present moment, a body free of all doing, allowing for total stillness. Powerful rejuvenation results when this relaxation is practiced in positions specially designed to release postural tension, coupled with effective breathing.
Good postural and effective breathing techniques learned during relaxation has a positive knock-on effect on everyday postural and breath awareness, thus promoting everyday well-being. A relaxed, at ease person can handle more pressure, recover from exhaustion more rapidly and experience more joy from life.
A sound relax and rejuvenate technique is an effective means to manage stress, as it teaches an understanding of the origins of stress, with tools to release its harmful effects.
The Five Keys to Well-being technique facilitates:
● short-term stress release,
● emergency stress relief,
● acute anxiety and panic attacks caused by extreme, unmanaged stress,
● and prevents stress habbits to become entrenched as chronic stress patterns.
MANAGING ENERGY
Quality rest periods are vital to health and productivity. Mastery of regulated energy management skills yield more hours of higher quality productivity and incalculable value in terms of well-being.
Health and vitality can only be maintained in the long run when energy expenditure is balanced with an appropriate rest response. Although it is possible to keep up long periods of business it is more wise to conserve energy by spending moderate amounts of energy regularly, as opposed to bursts of energy outpourings. This does not necessarily imply less work and more rest, but rather a more even spread of workload, punctuated with quality rest periods.
Energy burn-out or negativity caused by relentless activity necessitates long recuperation periods, and are counter-productive. As it is not always possible to control the demands of life, relaxation and rejuvenation skills are vital to cope with unavoidable periods of intense pressure, and assist with recovery from busy, stressful periods.
Undisturbed, deep sleep is essential to good health and for an enthusiastic, optimistic attitude to life. While it is true that different people need varying number of hours of sleeping time, deep restful sleep is important for everyone. As with all aspects of health it is up to the individual to determine what works best for him or her, and to ensure enough rest is taken under most, if not all, circumstances.
Restful and undisturbed sleeping patterns are supported by meditation and relaxation techniques practiced regularly, and applied with everyday awareness. A healthy lifestyle that includes moderate exercise, sensible nutrition with limited intake of or free of stimulants and depressants aids effective rest cycles. Extended hours of rest is especially important for body and mind to heal from exhaustion or illness.
